
Makes approx 2 dozen 6″ sausage rolls.
INGREDIENTS
1KG Beef Mince
6 Med Potatoes
2 Carrot
1 Brown Onion (Diced Finely)
2 Cups Bread Crumbs
1Tbsp Minimum Salt
1Tsp Minimum Black Ground Pepper
2 Tbsp Lite Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
Puff Pastry Sheets (Store Bought)
Extras
1 Container Alfalfa
½ Jar Anchovies
Left over Spinach or Silverbeet or any other vegies
Any other herbs
Kidney
I put anything I feel like after the Basic Ingredients.
METHOD
Put mince in a large bowl or a 10 Lt pot
Peel Potatoes and Carrot Then grate them. I just use the food processor to grate the Vege and add to bowl
Peel and finely dice the Onion add to bowl
Then put in any other Ingredients (Anchovies need to be squashed and mashed before adding)
Put the bread crumbs in last over the top of it all
Mix with hands (May need kitchen food gloves) Mix well for about 5 minutes
Rolls
I get 2 rolls out of 1 piece of Puff Pastry
Cut rolls into half or in three. Place Baking Paper on baking tray then place the Sausage Rolls on the tray and brush with milk or egg wash
Cooking
Depending on your oven cook for 25 to 30 minutes at 220°C. I just watch the colour of the pastry until it is a dark golden colour
The bread crumbs take up the moisture of the Potato, Carrots and Onion but does not dry out the Sausage Rolls. This recipe gives me up to 30 Sausage Rolls if each roll is cut in half.
