Beef Rendang

SHORTCUT RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 Kg Beef (40 mm Cubes)
2 Shallots or 1 Onion
3 Garlic cloves
1 Pack Beef Rendang Paste Mix
1 Tbsp Veg Oil
1/2 Cup Water
400 ml Coconut Milk

METHOD

1 Preheat Pressure Cooker on Brown or Saute.
2 Finely chop Shallots.
3 Crush the Garlic.
4 Add the oil to Electric Pressure Cooker.
5 Cook Onion until just starting to brown about 2 minutes.
6 Add the Garlic and stir for 30 seconds.
7 Add the Rendang Paste and cook for 3 – 4 minutes.
8 Turn off Pressure Cooker and add water to De-glaze the pot.
9 Add Beef and the Coconut Milk.
10 Cook at high Pressure for about 30 minutes.
11 Release the Pressure.
12 Open the lid and give a quick stir.
13 Turn Pressure Cooker on Brown or Saute again to reduce the amount of liquid for approximately 20 – 30 minutes.
